Pimple or Acne

Definition:
Acne vulgaris, or acne, is a skin problem that starts when oil and dead skin cells clog up your pores. Some people call it blackheads, blemishes, whiteheads, pimples, or zits. When you have just a few red spots, or pimples, you have a mild form of acne. Severe acne can mean hundreds of pimples that can cover the face, neck, chest, and back. Or, it can be bigger, solid, red lumps that are painful (cysts).

It is a skin disease, caused by changes in the pilosebaceous units (skin structures consisting of a hair follicle and its associated sebaceous gland). Severe acne is inflammatory, but acne can also manifest in noninflammatory forms. Acne lesions are commonly referred to as pimples, spots, or zits.

Most young people get at least mild acne. It usually gets better after the teen years. But many adult women do have acne in the days before their menstrual periods.

How you feel about your acne may not be related to how bad it is. Some people with severe acne are not bothered by it. Others are embarrassed or upset even though they have only a few pimples.

The good news is that there are many good treatments that can help you get acne under control.

Acne, eruptive skin disease. It is primarily a disorder of the sebaceous follicles of the skin and appears most often on the face, neck, and back. The natural secretion, or sebum, of the follicles accumulates and mixes with dust and dirt. The follicles and surrounding tissue become inflamed and blackheads appear. If the follicle opening completely closes, the accumulated sebum is degraded by bacteria and forms a cyst.

Acne vulgarise, the most common form, is usually associated with adolescence but may also occur in adults. A severe form of the disorder is known as acne conglobata. Other forms of acne are also observed, such as the chloracne caused by chlorinated compounds. In acne rosacea, the capillaries in the cheeks, forehead, and nose are swollen with blood and the oil glands in the skin become infected.

Acne in adolescence results primarily from hormonal changes taking place in the body; the hormones stimulate sebum production. Outbreaks cannot be prevented by a controlled diet and are not a sign of uncleanliness. Good hygie should be observed, however, to prevent more serious infections. Severe acne may be treated by antibiotics, benzoyl peroxide, or vitamin A derivatives. Severe acne in adults may be a sign of an underlying endocrine disorder.(consult a doctor)
In Acne, follicles in the skin sometimes get blocked. Sebum (Oil) which normally drains to the surface gets blocked and bacteria begins to grow thus causes acne.

Most Acne treatments, Acne scar treatments (compound chemical based) used today are not effective, or in many cases, can cause further skin irritation instead of healing or getting rid of the root of Acne.

If you really want to get rid of Acne, you will have to take serious care of yourself. First of all, you must see that your stomach is in perfect order, you get your bowel properly cleaned daily, maintain a healthy life style ,do physical exercise daily and  take all  types  care  required to keep a soft and smooth skin.
