Chair Poses Improve Yoga Techniques:-

If you’re new to yoga, here’s a way to modify the classic chair pose. Practice half-chair for a while before progressing to the more challenging full chair position. This gives you a chance to learn proper technique without developing bad habits.

Step 1 Stand with your feet together and with your hands by your sides. As you inhale, sweep your arms up and bend your knees. Sit back on your heels with your hips moving behind your heels. Grasp your forearms above your head. Drop your shoulders down and away from your ears and look forward. Make sure you keep your heels on the floor with your knees together and your abdominals pulled in. Take three to six slow full breaths. Come out of the pose by straightening your legs and lowering your arms.

Step 2 As you feel more competent and become comfortable doing the half chair, continue to squat deeper toward the floor. Straighten your arms overhead, pointing your fingertips toward the ceiling. Remember to relax your shoulders down. Sit as low as you can with your knees together and your heels on the floor. Hold for three to six full breaths.

Step 1:->

Stand with your legs 4 to 5 feet apart. Turn your left foot out to the side and your right foot in slightly. Anchor each foot firmly to the ground. Keep your right leg straight and bend your left knee, lunging down until your hips are at knee level. Reach your right arm above shoulder level and reach your left arm to the floor in front of your left foot. Scoop your tailbone under your body and rotate your legs outward. Pull in your abs. Hold this position for three to four breaths, looking forward or up to the ceiling.

Step->2

Once your hips have loosened up and you are comfortable with the basic position, try this more challenging variation. Expand and rotate your chest up toward the ceiling as you lower your right arm behind your hips. Reach around with your right hand and try to grasp your left thigh. Without losing the rotation in your upper spine, raise your left arm off the floor, reaching out with your fingertips. Turn your gaze to the ceiling or look forward if doing so feels more comfortable for your neck. Hold this position for three to four breaths, then repeat on the other side.

Practice three sets and take little rest.

When work has you glued to your desk and you feel your back stiffening up, try this simple stretch for a few minutes. It helps loosen those tight areas and counters the effects of prolonged sitting.This is specially very good for those who are working on computers for long hours.

Step 1
——-

Push your chair away from your desk, sit on the front edge of the chair and place both feet hip-width apart. Inhale, raise your arms straight up, separating them so they are shoulder-width apart, palms facing in. On an exhale, keep your back straight and lean forward from your hips until your upper body rests on your lap. Reach your fingertips to the floor.

Step 2
——

On an inhale, twist your upper spine to your right and raise your right arm until your hand points to the ceiling. Look up toward your hand. Hold this position for three breaths. Lower your hand to the floor and repeat on the other side.

Do three sets of the above exercises and relax for two minutes. Take a deep breath and release slowly.

Thigh-Muscle Stretch (Yoga Exercise)

Thigh-muscle stretch works best if body stays in alignment

It’s very easy to cheat when performing some of the more popular stretches. But without proper form, we can end up wasting our time or worse — creating undue stress on our joints. When done correctly, this is an excellent way to stretch the muscles in the front of the thigh.
Step 1:->.

Stand with both feet together, then shift your body weight over your left leg and bend your right knee. Reach your left arm in front of you, or place it directly on a sturdy surface to help you balance.

Step 2:->

Bend forward and reach down to grasp your right foot with your right hand. Be sure to hold around the arch or the shoelace area of your foot (not the toes). Stand upright and point your right knee straight toward the floor; be sure your knee does not point out to the side. For a deeper stretch, tuck your hips under your torso and pull your heel closer toward your buttocks. Release and repeat on the other leg.
Now leave your hand, come back to the straight standing position and do the same stretching of the other hips.

Try to remain in stretched position for at least 30 seconds and minimum 3 sets of the above exercise to be done at a time.

This stretching exercise is very helpful to get rid of leg fatigue and knee pain.

For most people, lower back pain is a cumulative process, creeping up on us through poor posture and bad habits when lifting and bending. Here is an easy exercise you can do throughout the day to help strengthen your back muscles while sitting for long periods of time.

Step 1
………………………………..
Sit in a chair, raise your left arm above you and hold it just above the elbow with the right hand. Your forearm will come behind your head. Inhale, pulling your abdominals in toward your spine, moving your head slightly back to press gently against your right forearm.

Step 2
……………………………….
On an exhale, lean slightly to the right and slowly draw imaginary circles on the ceiling with your left hand. Keep your hips, thighs and knees motionless as you initiate the movement from your waist. After three circles, return to center and inhale; switch the position of your arms, then repeat the circles with the opposite hand.
